Post-install Audience Integrations checklist

Use this checklist after installing or upgrading Showcase. Complete it on a test presentation before using the workflows with visitors.

Server and roles

  • [ ] Sign in as an Administrator and confirm Admin → Network & Public Access opens.
  • [ ] Confirm Integrations, Sites, Codice DB, and Moderation appear for the expected roles.
  • [ ] Confirm a Presenter, Front desk or Viewer account cannot manage connectors, Sites, credentials, or moderation.
  • [ ] Restart Showcase Server once and confirm the Editor reconnects normally.

Phone access

  • [ ] Save the server and phone-facing HTTPS addresses in Network & Public Access.
  • [ ] Run Test public URL and Test phone URL.
  • [ ] From a phone on the visitor network, open the phone-facing address.
  • [ ] Confirm the phone trusts the expected certificate without bypassing a warning.

Connector data

  • [ ] Create a test connector using a representative source sample.
  • [ ] Run Preview dry-run and review create, update, archive, and reject counts.
  • [ ] For a push connector, create a named credential with a clear owner and store its shown-once secret safely.
  • [ ] Apply or send the sample and confirm the expected people or content appear in Showcase.
  • [ ] Send the same external ID with one changed field and confirm Showcase updates rather than duplicates it.
  • [ ] Review the run history and then revoke any temporary credential.

Personal Folder

  • [ ] Create a test Personal Folder with a name and email address.
  • [ ] Add a harmless test file to the folder.
  • [ ] Generate its Access QR from Codice DB or display it in the packaged player.
  • [ ] Scan the QR from a real phone.
  • [ ] Preview and download the file.
  • [ ] Edit one allowed detail and confirm the change is saved.
  • [ ] Generate a fresh QR after the old link expires.

Hosted Site

  • [ ] Deploy a single .html test page and open its /www/ URL.
  • [ ] Deploy a ZIP-based test site with local assets.
  • [ ] Activate a second version, then roll back to the previous version.
  • [ ] Confirm a page that needs an external API or off-site assets fails as expected — Hosted Sites cannot reach external origins; there is no per-site setting to allow one.

Audience Upload and moderation

  • [ ] Add Audience Upload to a supported test widget.
  • [ ] Display and scan its QR in the packaged player.
  • [ ] Upload a permitted image from a phone and confirm it remains pending.
  • [ ] Open Moderation, preview it, and approve it.
  • [ ] Confirm it appears in the intended wall widget without restarting.
  • [ ] Upload a second item, reject it with a reason, and confirm it is not attached.

Scanner and Codice event checks

  • [ ] Test each configured keyboard-wedge or serial scanner with the real device.
  • [ ] Disconnect and reconnect it; confirm its service recovers.
  • [ ] Send one live tap for a known test alias and confirm exactly one expected player action.
  • [ ] Send one request for a code that does not exist and confirm the API returns HTTP 404 (status: "unknown-id") rather than any player action — there is no dry-run mode for network callers.

If any check fails, record the Showcase version, operating system, time, affected workflow, and exact onscreen error before contacting MultiTaction support.
