Launcher Release Notes

Release notes for different Launcher versions are shown below.

v26.5.0 (2026)

New Features

  • Signed Windows installers — Release builds of the Windows installer are now code-signed (Azure Trusted Signing). Signed installers reduce SmartScreen warnings on download and let administrators verify the package is genuine MultiTaction software before deploying it.
  • Published to the downloads page — Launcher releases are now available directly from the apps.multitaction.com downloads page, so you can always get the latest build.

v26.4.0 (2026)

New Features

  • Auto-detection of installed MT applications — Launcher automatically generates tiles for detected Canvus, Showcase, and SiteManager installations. No manual pipeline configuration required for standard deployments.
  • License activation UI — Unlicensed auto-detected apps show an "Activate License" button; wall/kiosk installs automatically enter activation mode on relaunch.
  • .pipeline file extension — Pipeline configuration files now use the .pipeline extension. Legacy .ini files remain supported.
  • Windows support — Auto-detection works on both Linux and Windows.
  • Version 26.4.0 — Calendar versioning adopted (year.month.patch), consistent with other MultiTaction products.

Bug Fixes

  • Pipeline logs now written to the app's log folder — Launcher-captured logs for Canvus and Showcase are now saved alongside each app's own logs. On Ubuntu: ~/MultiTaction/canvus/logs and ~/MultiTaction/showcase/logs. On Windows: %LOCALAPPDATA%\MultiTaction\canvus\logs and %LOCALAPPDATA%\MultiTaction\showcase\logs. Previously they were written to the Launcher's own log folder, making them hard to find during troubleshooting.

Changes

  • Pipeline config extension renamed from .ini to .pipeline (.ini still accepted as a fallback).
  • Auto-detected tile basenames use the application name without the .pipeline extension.
