Bug Fixes

  • Launcher comes back after an application closes (Windows) — when a Showcase pipeline started from a tile closed cleanly, Launcher came back minimized about 4 times in 10, and on a wall with no taskbar there was no way to bring it back. Launcher now comes back to the front every time a pipeline ends.
  • All Windows program files are signed — the installer now signs mt-launcher.exe, the MultiTaction libraries it installs and the uninstaller with the Multitaction Inc. certificate. Before, only the installer file itself was signed. This is in installer build 26.10.0.172 and later. If you installed 26.10.0 before 6 October 2026, download the installer again and run it to get the signed files.

Known Issues

  • Launcher is not minimized while an application runs (Windows) — with minimize-on-launch=true, Launcher stays open behind the running application instead of minimizing. The cause is in the Cornerstone platform: Application::minimize() never applies on Windows, and queued minimize requests flush after restore() and re-minimize the window. This release works around the re-minimize; the minimize itself will follow with the platform fix.

Bug Fixes

  • Stale application tiles removed after upgrades (Windows) — after upgrading MT Canvus or MT Showcase, Launcher could keep showing a tile for the previous version (for example "MT Showcase 1.13.0" next to 26.09). Launcher now checks which versions Windows reports as installed and hides tiles left behind by versions that are no longer installed. Your own custom pipeline files are not affected, and no files are deleted. To turn this off, set auto-detect-apps=false in launcher.ini.
  • Launcher icon on Windows — the desktop shortcut, taskbar and File Explorer now show the MT Launcher icon instead of the generic Windows application icon.
  • Clearer diagnostics when no applications are found — if Launcher finds no application configurations, it now logs a warning naming the folders it searched, instead of silently showing only the Exit tile.

  • macOS support — Launcher is now packaged and released as a signed macOS app bundle, alongside the existing Ubuntu and Windows builds.

Bug Fixes

  • Windows startup failure fixed — the Windows installer now bundles LibMWCapture.dll, which Launcher needed to start.
  • macOS packaging fixes — the macOS app bundle now includes the FreeRDP libraries and Cornerstone widget plugins that MultiWidgets pulls in, and auto-detection now correctly recognizes installed macOS .app bundles.

New Features and Improvements

  • Start with XFCE sessions — Launcher can now start as part of an XFCE desktop session on Linux, so installations using XFCE get the Launcher on sign-in without custom session configuration.
  • Launcher minimizes while pipelines run — the Launcher window now minimizes itself while a launched application is running, instead of staying in front of it.
  • Updated platform — rebuilt against the updated MultiTaction platform, picking up the platform improvements since the June release: the Windows multi-GPU rendering fix shipped with Showcase 26.08.3 and Canvus 26.08.1 (each window renders on the GPU that drives its displays; Quadro-class GPUs and one window per GPU required), a fix for a framebuffer cropping artifact after resolution changes, and per-GPU startup diagnostics in the logs. On Linux, multi-GPU placement is governed by the X-screen configuration (one X screen per GPU), unchanged in this release.

  • Signed Windows installers — Release builds of the Windows installer are now code-signed (Azure Trusted Signing). Signed installers reduce SmartScreen warnings on download and let administrators verify the package is genuine MultiTaction software before deploying it.
  • Published to the downloads page — Launcher releases are now available directly from the apps.multitaction.com downloads page, so you can always get the latest build.

New Features and Improvements

  • Auto-detection of installed MT applications — Launcher automatically generates tiles for detected Canvus, Showcase, and SiteManager installations. No manual pipeline configuration required for standard deployments.
  • License activation UI — Unlicensed auto-detected apps show an "Activate License" button; wall/kiosk installs automatically enter activation mode on relaunch.
  • .pipeline file extension — Pipeline configuration files now use the .pipeline extension (.ini still accepted as a fallback). Auto-detected tile basenames use the application name without the .pipeline extension.
  • Windows support — Auto-detection works on both Linux and Windows.
  • Version 26.4.0 — Calendar versioning adopted (year.month.patch), consistent with other MultiTaction products.

Bug Fixes

  • Pipeline logs now written to the app's log folder — Launcher-captured logs for Canvus and Showcase are now saved alongside each app's own logs. On Ubuntu: ~/MultiTaction/canvus/logs and ~/MultiTaction/showcase/logs. On Windows: %LOCALAPPDATA%\MultiTaction\canvus\logs and %LOCALAPPDATA%\MultiTaction\showcase\logs. Previously they were written to the Launcher's own log folder, making them hard to find during troubleshooting.
