Connector Follow

Desktop client only

This feature is available in the Canvus desktop client only. It is not present in the web-client touch UI. Operators using browser-based access will not see this feature.

Connector Follow adds navigation to the connector lines between widgets. Each end of a connector becomes a tap target: double-tap it to jump the viewport to the widget at the other end of the connection. This lets you traverse relationships between widgets without manually scrolling across the canvas to find where they lead.

How It Works

Whenever a connector exists between two widgets on the canvas, Connector Follow automatically adds a navigation arrow at each end of the connector line. No setup is required.

Connector Follow adds navigation arrows at both ends of every connector. Tap an arrow to jump to the connected widget.

To navigate from a widget to the widget it connects to:

  1. Locate a connector line starting from the current widget.
  2. Double-tap the arrow at the source end of the connector (near the widget you are currently viewing).

The viewport pans to bring the destination widget into view.

To navigate from a widget back to the widget that connects to it:

  1. Locate a connector line ending at the current widget.
  2. Double-tap the arrow at the destination end of the connector (near the current widget).

The viewport pans to bring the source widget into view.

Multiple Connectors

If a widget has multiple outgoing connectors, each connector has its own arrow. Double-tap the arrow of the specific connector you want to follow.

Use Cases

  • Process flows — follow the steps of a workflow diagram in sequence without manually finding each step.
  • Mind maps — traverse idea connections outward from a central concept.
  • Dependency diagrams — jump between related items (tasks, requirements, decisions) to understand their relationships.
